The last album by Boogie Down Productions, released on Jive and BMG Records. Sex and Violence asks more questions about politics and society itself than any other BDP album.

The final album released under the Boogie Down Productions name, Sex and Violence is a partial return to form after the overly preachy ego trip of raycarsimpsicaperranavitytyre.xyzinfoically, it's a return to the aggressive beats of KRS-One's earlier work, except with a more contemporary sound -- this is the first BDP album to rely on multiple outside producers, which supplies a much-needed sonic update.6/

This LP is best thought of as a sort of missing link between Boogie Down Productions and KRS One the solo artist. There is some nice production on here (including a scattering of tracks by the mighty Prince Paul) but the presence of too many producers make the experience feel like a badly plotted compilation, not a coherent album/5(27).
